Almost every six months in Pennsylvania there is an election. In this May's primary, we will be voting for a range of judicial candidates as well as for the District Attorney's office.
Unfortunately, it can be extremely difficult to find information about who these judicial candidates are and even harder to identify why a candidate should receive your vote.
Our panel will discuss what races are on the ballot this year, where to find resources on the candidates, and how these positions impact our state and local communities.
This event is free to attend!
Speakers include:
Kadida Kenner, PA Campaign Director, Why Courts Matter
Jen Devor, President and Co-Founder, Better Civics
Tonya Bah, Strategist, Free the Ballot

The May primary is right around the corner, and the incumbent District Attorney, Larry Krasner, and his Democratic party primary challenger, Carlos Vega, both believe they have the best ideas to serve as the City's top prosecutor, but the decision is up to you.
This is your chance to learn about the important duties of the District Attorney, ask the candidates about the issues most important to you, and hear how the candidates plan on engaging millennials –– Philadelphia’s largest demographic.
Due to scheduling constraints, the candidates will be appearing back-to-back, with the District Attorney Krasner on stage from 7:00-7:45 and Mr. Vega on stage from 7:45-8:30.
The Democratic Primary District Attorney Town Hall presented by Philly Set Go is co-sponsored by the following organizations.
-Millennials in Action
-Liberty City LGBT Democratic Club
-Philadelphia LGBTQ Bar Association
-Philadelphia Young Democrats
-Open Wards Philadelphia
-Better Civics

We’ll have food, music, and all you need in order to make your voice heard and your vote count on November 3rd!
60% of eligible voters are NEVER asked to register. With a major election on our hands and Philadelphia being critical to how Pennsylvania decides which presidential candidate has a path to the White House, we must change that.
Civic engagement means going right to the people. Leading up to November 3rd, Better Civics is introducing our new signature Four Corner “Vote Safe” Block Parties - our way of connecting with the community, while ensuring that we are socially distanced and following safe gathering practices in light of COVID-19. Our goals with each Four Corner “Vote Safe” Block Party are to:
Get new voters registered and encourage voters to check their registratioN
Educate residents on how to vote safely: either in-person at the polls or by mail
Empower residents with the tools they need to keep the work going after November 3rd. Voting is a step, but not the only step. Civic engagement is year-round.
